‘Twilight’ tour kicks off Friday in Hollywood

From a best-selling novel series to a first film and now a highly anticipated second movie, the Twilight franchise is one of the most popular series in Hollywood. A nationwide Twilight tour kicks off Friday night surrounded by droves of dedicated fans.

The sequel's soundtrack is currently number one on all charts as well.

Bands featured in the soundtrack for New Moon performed at the kick-off festivities in Hollywood and Highland Friday night.

Also, select cast members from the movie held a question-and-answer session.

Twilight fans by the hundreds all lined up to see stars from the film, hear a question and answer from cast members and for some Twi-hards, autographs too.

Usher’s divorce from his wife is final

Usher is a single man once again! The R&B singer's divorce from his sytlist has been finalized.

A judge in Fulton County, Georgia issued the final decree on Wednesday. The 31-year-old Grammy winner filed for divorce from 38-year-old Tameka Raymond on June 12.

The filing indicated the two had been separated since July 2008. Usher also claimed the marriage was irretrievably broken with no reasonable hope of reconciliation. Raymond disputes the two separated in 2008.

The couple married in 2007. There's no word on a custody arrangement regarding the couple's two young sons.

Joe Jackson seeks allowance from estate

Michael Jackson's father Joe wants to be paid an allowance from his son's estate.

An attorney for Joe Jackson filed court papers today seeking a stipend from the estate. No word on how much Jackson's father is asking for.

"He does not have a regular or steady source of income, and he was dependent upon the money provided by his son, Michael Jackson, through his wife, Katherine Jackson, for his support," the filing states.

Michael Jackson's will only stipulated that money go to his mother Katherine, his three young children, and various charities.

19-year-old suspected to be ringleader of celeb burglary ring

Court records identify one person as the leader of a burglary ring accused of stealing from celebrities with homes in Los Angeles, California.

A search warrant indicates that police seized photos of Paris Hilton, designer jeans, computers, a Korean passport and hundreds of $100 bills at the Las Vegas home of 19-year-old Rachel Lee.

She was arrested last month. Charges have not been filed against Lee. But Las Vegas police told a judge that they believe Lee was the mastermind of the ring.

Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom, Audrina Patridge and the Hilton family were among some of the rich and famous victims.

 

Movie Man reviews: ‘A Christmas Carol,’ ‘The Fourth Kind,’ ‘The Men Who Stare at Goats’

Meat Loaf headlines 2009 Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp

Ever dreamed of being a rock star?  Well, Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp may be your dream come true.

Meat Loaf will headline the Fall 2009 sessions in Hollywood... with appearances from Jon Anderson, lead vocalist for Yes, and lead guitarist Ace Frehley, a founding member of KISS.

Many of the camp's favorite counselors will be returning, including Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters), Mark Hudson (producer/songwriter, Aerosmith), Elliot Easton (The Cars),  Kenny Aronoff (John Fogerty), Danny Seraphine (Chicago), Bruce Kulick (KISS), Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne), Share Ross (Vixen) and Teddy Andreadis (Guns 'n' Roses).

The camp producer won't tell us a name, but says he's also secured a legendary guitarist from one of rock's most renowned bands. Wow, who could it be?

 

More names added to ‘2009 American Music Awards’ performers list

Add Green Day, Rihanna, Shakira, Mary J. Blige and Keith Urban to the list of performers at the 2009 American Music Awards.  They join Lady Gaga, Eminem, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, The Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry and Adam Lambert.

And get this... they say more names are going to be announced in the weeks ahead.

Judge OKs plea deal from Joe Francis

Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis was in court Friday morning for sentencing in a plea bargain deal.

The judge sentenced Francis to time served and a year of probation for filing false income tax returns.

In September, Francis pled guilty to filing false tax returns and bribing Nevada jail workers in exchange for food.
   
Francis was given credit for 301 days already served in jail. The plea deal also required him to pay $250,000 in restitution.

Quaids prepare for first court appearance

Actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi are preparing for their first court appearance on felony charges. 

People magazine says the couple finally posted bond after missing four court dates. Their arraignment has been scheduled for December and their bail was set at $20,000 each.

Police arrested the couple in Texas on September 24. They're accused of running out on a $10,000 hotel bill from the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara last summer.

‘Dancing’ pros team up for Broadway show

Dancing With the Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kym Johnson are teaming up to perform on Broadway.

The duo plans to star in Burn The Floor. The show will be Kym's Broadway debut. Maks performed there this summer with then fiancee Karina Smirnoff.  The two will take the stage after Thanksgiving and will dance into January.

Morgan Freeman settles suit on car wreck

Actor Morgan Freeman has settled a lawsuit linked to a 2008 car accident that seriously injured him and a passenger.  

Demaris Meyer was riding in the car, last summer when Freeman ran off the road near his Mississippi Delta home.

She filed a federal lawsuit against the Academy Award-winning actor in February, claiming he had been drinking the night of the accident.

Meyer also complained that she was wrongly "labeled as the other woman after the accident and accused of having caused the breakup of Mr. Freeman's marriage. Meyer has said the actor offered to let her stay that night at one of three houses on his property after they attended a party.

The terms of the settlement have not been released.

Rue McClanahan has bypass surgery

Popular Golden Girl Rue McClanahan is recovering from heart bypass surgery.

The surgery took place on Wednesday and went very well according to a friend and colleague. Rue's already looking forward to getting back to work. The 75-year-old said in a statement that she regretted missing a tribute to her set for this month at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco.

"Unfortunately, my doctor has laid down the law, and I'm currently in the hospital having some maintenance on the old ticker," she said. "Trust me, I'd much rather be in San Francisco having fun and being adored by all of you."

McClanahan's problem was discovered when she underwent tests before a knee operation.
