Cyruses wear hearts on their sleeves
Thursday, April 02, 2009
Billy Ray Cyrus wouldn't have missed the premiere for Hannah Montana: The Movie for the world. And, Billy Ray was happy to be back on the worldwide stage with his daughter, Miley Cyrus.
"Right now it's a celebration of the fans ... the fans that's been with me almost 20 years now," said Billy Ray.
Billy Ray had a record that crossed a lot of boundaries, so he did worldwide tours years ago. Well, it seems the world isn't ready to see Billy Ray go just yet. He has a new album, Back to Tennessee, which is featured in the movie.
Billy Ray wrote one of the songs, titled Ready Set Don't Go, when Miley was moving to California. Something that just about any father can identify with.
"It was just that moment of heartache and really just grabbing my guitar and putting my emotions down of what I was feeling," said Billy Ray. "That's kind of what we do at the Cyrus family. We wear our emotion on our sleeve. Our music is very real. This film is very real. It's definitely art imitating life, imitating art."
Well, perhaps the Cyrus family has their emotions on the ready, but it seems his heart wasn't on his sleeve during the premiere. She was smiling down the red carpet, shining like a star.
